Register of quality assurance agencies

In the Bergen Communiqué (2005), the European Ministers welcomed the principle of a European register of quality assurance agencies based on national review. They stated that the "practicalities of implementation [should] be further developed by ↑ENQA in cooperation with ↑EUA, ↑EURASHE and ↑ESIB with a report back to [the Ministers] through the [↑Bologna] Follow-up Group".[1] The Commission on Global Accreditation of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) proposed the establishment of a Worldwide Quality Register (WQR) for quality assurance and accreditation agencies in the field of higher education under the authority of a Consortium of IAUP, INQAAHE[2] and UNESCO[3].
